Crew Work Since Friday

The development of the University crew during the last three days has been seriously retarded by the loss of P. W. Flint '06, who was last Thursday declared ineligible by the Athletic Committee. On Friday he was replaced by W. W. Corlett '06. The boat is somewhat unsteady as Corlett has not yet got into the swing of the crew and is slow at the catch.

Lately the crew has been going down stream in the launch to Longwood bridge and from there has rowed to the Union Boat Club and back to the boathouse without stopping. Yesterday the men showed a good deal more vigor than at the end of last week.

The two four-oared crews have been rowing in the same order regularly, but the men do not yet swing well in unison, as may be expected when account is taken of the fact that they have been together only since Thursday. Yesterday they raced a mile against the current below Longwood bridge. The crew stroked by Morgan won by two lengths in 5 and 1-2 minutes. This four seemed to have more strength, but not such smooth from as that stroked by Ball.

Reece Stroked 1909 Crew.

The Freshman crew has again lost its stroke, J. Cutler, who, owing to ill health, will probably not be able to row until the end of the week. His position was filled yesterday by Reece, who stroked the 1909 crew in the class races on May 18. The crew rowed down to Harvard bridge and back, following Reece well. During the last few days the men have gained better control of their slides and a smoother recovery.

Only one of the two Freshman fours went out yesterday, as several men did not report.
