A two-story extension is being built over the main entrance of the east wing of the University Museum opposite the Peabody Museum. The addition, which is made of brick with brown stone trimmings, will cost about $10,000. This will give room for a new laboratory, and for completing and enlarging the old hallway. The extension will be steam heated, and modern plumbing will be used in the laboratory. Instead of a skylight, as formerly, a tin-covered, gabled roof has been constructed.

The architect and contractor, F. B. Furbush, of Cambridge, expects to have the extension completed by the middle of July.
