The Yale university crew was defeated by the freshman crew over a two-mile course on the Thames yesterday afternoon, the time of the freshman eight being 11 minutes, 25 seconds, and that of the university crew 11 minutes, 27 seconds. Rockwell, who was put in Weeks' place at bow on Monday, rowed in that position yesterday, Weeks going in at bow on the four-oar. Rogers was changed from 3 to 2 on the university four-oar, and Williams placed at 3. On account of examinations, no work was given the crews in the morning.
