Dr. H. P. Bowditch '61 will resign his position as George Higginson Professor of Physiology in the Harvard Medical School at the end of the present academic year.
Dr. Bowditch graduated from the Medical School in 1868, and for the three succeeding years studied physiology in France and Germany. He has been Professor of Physiology in the Medical School since 1867, and was a trustee of the Boston Public Library from 1895 to 1902.
Along with Dr. J. P. Warren, Mosely Professor of Surgery, Dr. Bowditch was instrumental in the recent enlargement of the endowment fund of the Medical School.
