The fifth round and all but one set of the semi-finals in the interscholastic tennis tournament were played off on Jarvis Field yesterday afternoon. Sweetser, of Boston Latin School, and Davenport, of Stone's School, had each won one set in the semi-finals of the first division when play was called on account of darkness. The deciding set will be played at 9.30 o'clock this morning; and the winner will play Bothfield, of Newton High School, at 10.30 o'clock for the championship.

Volkmann's School has practically won the school championship, as it holds a safe lead over the others. At the close of play yesterday afternoon, the standing of the schools was: Volkmann, 15; Newton High, 12; Stone's, 10; Andover, 9; Boston Latin, 8; Cambridge Latin, 6; Rindge Manual Training, 2; Exeter, 1; Dedham High, 0.

The results of the matches played yesterday are as follows: Sweetser (B. L. S.) defeated Kayser (V.), 6-3, 6-1; Sweetser (B. L. S.) defeated Young (W. H. S.), 6-4, 6-2; Davenport (S.) defeated Beard (C. L. S.), 3-6, 6-4, 6-0; Bray (V.), defeated H. C. Hutchins (V.), 6-2, 6-1; Bothfield (N. H. S.) defeated Beinecke (A.), 6-3, 3-6, 6-2; Bothfield (N. H. S.), defeated Bray (V.), 6-4, 6-2.
