In a fatiguing race late yesterday afternoon over the one and 7-8 mile course, the University second eight defeated the Senior crew by about four and a half lengths in 10 minutes and 55 seconds. The time was good, as there was practically no favoring tide, the river was rough, and there was a stiff head wind. Both boats shipped a quantity of water. Under such circumstances it was impossible to form a just estimate of the speed or form of the crews.
The orders:
University second crew-Stroke, Morgan; 7, Emmons; 6, Richards; 5, Corbett; 4, Warren; 3, Gill; 2, Bacon; bow, Wiggins; cox., Arnold.
Senior crew-Stroke, Switzer; 7, Burchard; 6, Kellogg; 5, Lord; 4, White; 3, Cabot; 2, Gibson; bow, Williams; cox., Bonelli.
