Of the 31 men who spoke last night at the preliminary trials to select speakers for the Boylston Prizes for elocution, 11 were retained. Dean Briggs, Professor G. P. Baker and Rev. Prescott Evarts, of Christ Church, acted as judges. The men retained, who will speak at the final trials next Thursday in an order to be later determined, are: A. Davis '07, A. R. Ellis '07, S. Feingold '07, J. A. Harley '06, G. J. Hirsch '07, A. H. Ives '07, L. R. Jillson '07, F. W. Newcomb '07, W. H. Pollak '07, J. W. Twombly '06, H. C. Washburn '06.
