Harvard Second Won Baseball

The University second baseball team won its eighth consecutive victory yesterday afternoon by defeating the Holy Cross second team at Worcester in their second game by the score of 14 to 11.

As the score indicates, the game was very loosely played. Both pitchers were hit freely, and numerous errors were made in the field by both teams. The second nine took the lead at the start and maintained it throughout the game. It won largely on account of its fast base running, which was aided by the erratic fielding of the Holy Cross team. Pounds did the best batting for Harvard, getting four hits in five times at bat.

The score by innings: Innings,  1  2  3  4  5  6  7  8  9 Harvard Second,  5  1  0  1  3  1  0  1  2--14 Holy Cross Second,  1  1  1  2  3  2  0  0  1--11
