Nineteen men played in the preliminary round of the University golf tournament, which was held on the links of the Brookline Country Club yesterday afternoon. A. L. White '06 and H. H. Wilder '09 tied for the lowest score, each making 1 8 holes in 84 strokes. The other six men who qualified and their scores are as follows: W. Hickox '08, 85; T. M. Claflin '07, 87; J. E. Searle '08, 88; H. Sibley '07, 89; P. Grant, 2nd, '08, 91; and I. S. Broun '08, 92.
The pairings for the first round of matches which will be played this afternoon on the course at the Brookline Country Club are as follows: A. L. White '06 vs. H. H. Wilder '09; T. M. Claflin '07 vs. P. Grant, 2nd, '08; J. E. Searle '08 vs. W. Hickox '08; I. S. Broun '08 vs. H. Sibley '07.
