The Freshman baseball team defeated Brown 1908 yesterday afternoon by the score of 7 to 2 in an uninteresting game. The feature of the afternoon was the work of Palmer, who struck out 12 men, and made a three-base hit, which might easily have been stretched into a home run. Both sides batted weakly.
Brown scored in the first inning on a wild pitch, a stolen base and a passed ball, and in the second on two singles by Mehan and Hunkins. The Freshmen scored three in the first inning. The only earned run of the game was made in the fourth inning on Palmer's three-bagger and a single by Rogers.
