Inlaid Chess Table Given to Union

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

An elaborately designed chess table, presented to the Union by Mr. Isaac Leopold Rice of New York, has been placed recently in the Game Room. The table is of quartered oak with a solid base, supporting on two stout columns an oblong top. The playing board, bordered by a narrow strip of rosewood, is inlaid with black and white squares. The board is surrounded by 25 small fancy metal shields on which will be engraved the names of future winners of the University championship.
