1909 Crew Race Won by Third Boat

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

On Saturday the three Freshman crews were given a long trial race over the one and seven-eighths mile course from the Longwood bridge down-stream to the Union Boat Club. The third eight defeated the first and second crews by a boat length and a half as it was able to keep a higher stroke.

The time was fast for so early in the season and the work as a whole was satisfactory, considering that Saturday's row was the first time that the crews had gone over the course. The orders remained the same as on Friday, except that Wise coxswained the first boat again and Galatti the third.
