First Week of Freshman Baseball

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Freshman baseball squad has been holding regular outdoor practice this week. The principle work has been the formation of scrub teams, which have taken their turns in fielding and batting, to get some idea as to what the men can do in a game. So far the work has been very crude; the batting is poor, and the fielding is very erratic. As soon as the squad is cut down a better opportunity will be afforded for individual coaching.

On Tuesday nine men were dropped, and on Wednesday six battery candidates were dropped from the University squad to the Freshman squad. About 15 or 20 men will probably be retained during the Easter recess.
