Saturday's Results at Olympic Games

In the finals of the long jump at the Olympic Games, at Athens, on Saturday, L. Robertson, I. A. A. C., was first, with a jump of 2 meters 95 1-2 centimeters. Petit, France, secured second place; M. J. Sheridan, I. A. A. C., was third.

In the team swimming race, the Hungarian team finished first, the German second, the English third, and the American team fourth. Halmy, Hungary, won the 1000-meter swimming race in 16 minutes, 52 3-5 seconds, which established a new record for the distance.

Lecoq, France, won the 30-yard open revolver event with a score of 259; and Standelhofen, the Swiss, won the open rifle shoot with a score of 244, both out of a possible 300.

The Pentathlon series, consisting of five games, each competitor taking part in all, were also run off Saturday. These games included the 192-meter run, the standing long jump, throwing the discus, javelin throwing, and Graeco-Roman wrestling. Following are the results of the series.

First--Melander, Sweden, with 24 points; second, Mudin, Hungary, 25 points; third, Lemming, Sweden, 29 points.

M. J. Sheridan, I. A. A. C., secured first place in putting the weight, with a distance of 43 feet, 4 inches. Second place was won by a Hungarian, and third place went to Sweden.

The Germans won from the Greeks in the final sword teams contest.
