1909 Baseball at Andover Today

The Freshman baseball team will play Andover this afternoon in the second game of its schedule, at 3 o'clock at Andover.

The work of the Freshmen has been fairly satisfactory; the hitting and the fielding are good, but there is not much team play. The development has been greatly retarded owing to the size of the squad. Both pitchers are in good form, but the catchers are still weak in throwing. Andover is very weak this year except in the pitching department, so the game promises to be close. On Tuesday Andover defeated Bates by the score of 5 to 2, but was defeated on Thursday by Dartmouth by the score of 6 to 0.

The batting orders: HARVARD 1909.  ANDOVER. Rogers, s.s.  3b., H. Merritt Briggs, 2b.  2b., Isett Harding, 1b.  l.f., Murphy Dana, l.f.  s.s., Fels Paine, 3b.  r.f., Reilly Cutting, c.f.  c.f., Daly Currie, Frye, r.f.  c., Kirkpatrick Cate, c.  1b., Ballou Bush, Palmer, p.  p., Lanigan, A. Merritt

F. A. Harding has been appointed acting captain of the Freshman team for today.
