The Freshman baseball team defeated Volkmann School on Soldiers Field yesterday by the score of 24 to 0 in the first regular game of the season. The game was called at the end of the seventh inning.
The fielding of both teams was very poor, Volkmann making seven errors and the Freshman three.  The Freshman, however, batted well, securing 21 hits.  The heaviest hitting was done by Briggs and Howes.  Bush pitched in excellent form, striking out nine out of ten men in three innings.
