Dean Shaler developed last Friday morning a critical case of pneumonia, which has greatly complicated his illness. His condition yesterday morning was serious and up to last night no change had taken place.
He was successfully operated upon for appendicitis a week ago Saturday and had continued to show signs of a rapid improvement until last Friday, when pneumonia suddenly interrupted his convalescence. Although Dean Shaler's condition is serious for one of his years, it is hoped that his unusual vitality will enable him to rally from his present illness.
