Tennis Plans for this Spring

The annual class tennis tournaments will begin on May 7 and continue through that week. The four winners will then play for the College championship.

Later a round robin tournament will be held, from the results of which the team will be chosen to play against Yale at New Haven. A series of practice matches with nearby country clubs are being arranged to precede the match with Yale.

The prospects for a strong University team this spring are very good. The following men, who were on the University team last fall, will be able to play this spring: F. F. De Rham 2L., F. J. Sulloway 2L., N. W. Niles '09, and R. N. Smither '06, who will be captain of the team this spring.

The interscholastic tournament, held annually under the auspices of the Lawn Tennis Association, will begin on Saturday, May 5, on Jarvis Field. As formerly, the tournament will be open to the students of all New England preparatory schools, and silver cups will be awarded to the winner and the runner-up. Entries will be received until 6 o'clock on Friday, May 4, by N. W. Niles '09.

The tennis courts on Holmes Field will probably be ready for use on Monday, although they are still rather soft. The courts will be in use as usual during the April recess.
