Testimonial to Prof. Putnam

In recognition of his services for archeological study during the past 50 years, Professor F. W. Putnam '62, Curator of the Peabody Museum, has recently received, besides memorials from the Harvard Anthropological Club and the Century Association of New York, a noteworthy testimonial from the American Museum at New York. Professor Putnam has been given permission to select from the collection of that museum sufficient ethnological specimens to illustrate fully the life of the inhabitants of the Philippine Islands. This collection comprises the larger part of the ethnological exhibit of the Philippines as represented at the St. Louis World's Fair in 1904.

At Professor Putnam's request Mr. C. C. Willoughby, assistant curator of the Museum, left last Wednesday for New York in order to make the selection. The collection will be entirely at Professor Putnam's private disposal.
