8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports

HARVARD DEFEATED M. I. T.

In Basketball Last Night. 42 to 2--Both Teams Ragged.

The University basketball team defeated the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the Gymnasium last night by a score of 42 to 2. Chiefly through Technology's lack of team play the Harvard players kept their opponents from scoring from the floor, their only baskets being made on fouls. In covering, the University team was fairly strong, but in the early part of the game lacked dash and team play. On the offensive the passing was very weak and the formation plays from the toss-up consequently failed to work. Both teams depended almost entirely on individual work, destroying all attempts at team play by long inaccurate shots at the baskets. Griffiths and Burleigh were both weak on free throws, and Brooks who made several attempts from fouls proved no better. Harvard took the lead in the first half through Technology's inferior defense, scoring 11 points to their opponent's one.

In the second half the University team started play in good form, and completely outplayed Technology, scoring in quick succession. Near the end of the game the University team slackened play again and gave the opposing forwards several good chances of which they failed to take advantage.
