University and Graded Rowing

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

University rowing will be continued today at 4 o'clock. As a result of the race held in the basin on Tuesday there will be a general change in the orders of both boats. The fall work will continue as long as the weather is suitable.

A crew will soon be formed from the Freshman rowing squad and will be sent out on the river in a barge. Work on the machines has been fairly satisfactory and has given the coaches an idea of the available material for next spring.

Graded Crews Practicing for Race.

Four of the graded crews were on the river yesterday, practicing for the graded crew race to be held a week from tomorrow, weather permitting, over the one and seven-eighths mile course in the basin. The work at both boat clubs has been handicapped by the irregularity of attendance, but Coaches Vail and Stephenson have corrected most of the individual faults and from now on attention will be centred in developing a clean, effective stroke. Both the first crews are rowing in good form, and will doubtless furnish a close race next week.
