FOOTBALL WITH BROWN

In Stadium at 3.--Brown Has Fast Team. Mason May Take Foster's Place.

The University football team will play the Brown eleven in the Stadium at 3 o'clock this afternoon. Brown has a strong, fast team and eight of their men are veteran players. Mayhew, the left halfback, is an exceptionally fast man, and was picked for the All-American eleven of 1906. There is a strong chance of Brown's winning today on account of the recent slump in the University eleven's playing. Whichever side wins the score will in all probability be a low one.

Last year Brown was defeated only by the score of 9 to 5, the visitors using shifting formations, fake kicks, and trick plays to great advantage. On October 19 of this year Maine was defeated by Brown, 40 to 0; a week later Pennsylvania won from them, 11 to 0; and last Saturday Brown beat Williams, 24 to 11.

There are three changes in the University eleven's line-up today. Macdonald and Bird, the regular ends, are laid off on account of lameness, and Browne and Houston will take their places. Starr, who has been doing well at halfback in practice lately will be put in an left halfback instead of Gilbert or Butt. Lockwood will probably not be able to play as his ankle is still troubling him. Hoar will fill Parker's position at left guard as the latter's lame back and shoulder have not entirely recovered as yet.

Two sections in the middle of the Harvard stands will be reserved for organized cheering this afternoon. Admission will be by H. A. A. and undergraduate complimentary tickets only. The teams will line-up as follows: HARVARD.  BROWN. Browne, l.e.  r.e., Swain. Burr, l.t.  r.t., Hazard. Hoar, l.g.  r.g., Ayler. Grant, c.  c., Smith. W. Peirce, r.g.  l.g., Conklin. Fish, r.t.  l.t., Kirley. Houston, r.e.  l.e., Pryor. Newhall, q.b.  q.b., Dennie. Starr, l.h.b.  r.h.b., Regnier. Rand, r.h.b.  l.h.b., Mayhew. Apollonio, f.b.  f.b., MacDonald.
