Pell in Tennis Semi-Finals

HAVERFORD, PA., October 2.--In the intercollegiate tennis tournament today Pell reached the semi-final round, in which he will meet Tilden of Pennsylvania tomorrow. He should meet Leroy of Columbia in the final round on Thursday. In the doubles Dabney and Lovering played well together and have a good chance of playing in the final match.

The scores in the third round of the singles follow: Leroy, Columbia, beat Morse, Harvard, 6-3, 7-5; Gordon, Princeton, beat Kawasaki, Pennsylvania, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3: Pell, Harvard, beat Register, Pennsylvania, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2: Tilden, Pennsylvania, beat Drennan, Cornell, 9-7, 6-2.

The first round of the doubles had these results: Dabney and Lovering, Harvard, beat Drennan and Bowes, Cornell, 6-3, 5-7, 6-2; Wells and Spaulding, Yale, beat Kawasaki and Philler, Pennsylvania, 6-3, 6-2; Richardson and Gordon, Princeton, beat Thompson and Thompson, Williams, 6-4, 6-4; Green and Marston, Cornell, beat Miller and Brown, Haverford, 6-0, 3-6, 6-0; Register and Tilden, Pennsylvania, beat Abbott and Linen, Williams, 6-1, 6-2; Thompson and Pyne, Princeton, beat Morse and Pell, Harvard, 7-5, 4-6, 6-3. In the second round Partridge and Dolbeare, Yale, beat Greer and Marston, Cornell, 8-6, 6-2.

The Intercollegiate Lawn Tennis Association has elected as officers: president, C. C. Pell '08; vice-president, M. T. Pyne, Princeton; secretary-treasurer, Register, Pennsylvania.
