GARDEN CITY, LONG ISLAND, Oct. 17.-In the second day's play of the team matches for the intercollegiate golf championship Yale won the championship by defeating Princeton 18 1-2 to 4 1-2. A high, cold wind prevented low scoring. The matches for the individual championship begin tomorrow. The summaries follow, the method of scoring consisting of one point for each individual match, plus one-half point for each hole won: YALE.    PRINCETON.
