Freshman Rowing Began Yesterday

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

About sixty men reported at the University Boat Club yesterday afternoon for the first Freshman crew practice. All men who had had experience in rowing at school were temporarily placed on the first squad; those who had rowed on the dormitory crews, on the second; and those of no experience, on the third. Several men on each squad failed to report. The work was very light, consisting only of half-hour practice on the machines. Coaches Wray, Rice, and Stevenson directed, the work, under the supervision of Captain Filley.

As soon as the coaches are familiar with the material, some changes in the squads will be made, but during this week the men will report at the same hours.
