Gifts of unusual interest have been added to the collection of coins and medals in the College Library. President Roosevelt '80 has sent a copy of the superb medal, by St. Gaudens, struck by the Government to commemorate his inauguration as President of the United States. Mrs. Barrett Wendell has given the collection a copy of the medal struck in honor of the recent services of Professor Barrett Wendell '77 as Harvard Lecturer in France.
As far as is known, all but ten of the medals which have been struck in honor of Harvard men are represented in the collection. Of the sixty-four men who have received medals, thirty-four were graduates of the University, the remaining thirty being recipients of honorary degrees.
C. P. Greenough '64 has presented to the collection 393 modern coins, R. G. Fuller '04, 1798 coins, and Rev. G. P. Knapp '87, missionary at Harpoot, Turkey, 117 ancient and medieval coins through B. A. G. Fuller '00.
