In the basketball practice in the Gymnasium last evening the University team defeated the second team by the score of 37 to 15. On the whole the work of the first team was better than it has been for several days and on the offense the men were quick to break away and pass. The forwards on the University team are still uncertain on easy baskets and on the defense, frequently leave their men uncovered.

The trick formations on the take-off which have proved so successful in the games this year worked poorly, but this failure was probably due to the familiarity of the second team with the formations. On free tries Griffiths made only one out of a possible seven baskets for the University team, and Miles missed four out of five for the second team.

The next game will be played with Holy Cross in the Gymnasium, next Saturday evening at 8 o'clock.

The line-up was as follows: UNIVERSITY TEAM.  SECOND TEAM. Quigley, l.f.  r.f., Dwelley, Rand Brooks, Broun, r.f.  l.g., Goode, Kempner, Almy Amberg, c.  c., Miles, Clark Burnham, l.g.  r.f., Brown, Downey, Moore Griffiths, r.g.  l.f., McCarty, Brooks
