The candidates for fielding positions on the University baseball team, except Freshmen and members of last year`s squad, and battery candidates whose ability is unknown to the coaches, have been holding regular practice in the Cage every afternoon this week. Under the supervision of Coach Coburn, the battery candidates have been given light work in passing and catching, but the men are still warned not to overexert their arms. The fielding candidates have practiced receiving easy grounders and passing to first base. Some improvement in the work is evident.
