Plan of the Yard in Stone

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

During the summer the plan of the Yard, which the Memorial Society has had in preparation for some time, was completed and placed between the two entrances of University Hall.

The cement body of the map is about, seven feet square and is raised about a foot and a half from the ground, slightly sloping towards the front in order that a better view of the whole may be obtained. The positions of the Yard buildings are marked by black diagrams outlined in brass, with the date of the erection of the buildings also in brass.

One of the most interesting features of the plan is the division of the Yard by dotted brass lines showing the original component parts of the Yard and the dates of their acquisition by the College. The gates and sections of the Yard fence are marked in brass letters with the name of the donors.
