The Freshman baseball team easily defeated the Yale freshmen by the score of 13 to 4 last Saturday on Soldiers Field. The Freshmen's victory was due to their heavy hitting at opportune moments, coupled with Yale's unsteady fielding and wild pitching.

Yale scored a run in the first and in the fourth innings. Pritchett started the fourth inning for Harvard with a three-base hit. McNeil and Lincoln went to first on balls, and Fischel, hit by a pitched ball, forced Pritchett home. Thomas was out on an infield fly. Wendell's hit brought in two more runs, and Smith secured first on an infield hit, filling the bases. Stephenson forced in the fourth run by a base on balls. With the bases full three more runs were made by an overthrow of Whitaker and a single by Pritchett. At the end of the inning the score stood 7 to 2 in the Freshmen's favor.

In the next inning Whitaker and Thomas scored for Yale and Harvard, respectively. Stephenson opened the sixth inning for Harvard with a three-base hit and was brought home on a single by Ware. Pritchett followed it with another three-base hit; McNeil singled, and came in on Lincoln's two-base hit, scoring the thirteenth run for the Freshmen.

The improvement of the Freshman nine since the game last Saturday was evident. The fielding was good and the batting was at times brilliant. Lincoln pitched a steady game and kept his opponents' six hits well scattered. Wendell caught well, and his throwing to second was excellent.
