The Yale university crew had five miles of rowing practice yesterday afternoon, going from the quarters downstream to the Navy Yard and back. It was a long row, intended to strengthen the men's endurance. The freshman eight took a two-mile easy row upstream. The university four-oar paddled down to the Navy Yard and back, doing little hard work. Atkins and Harris, who have been the substitutes for the four-oar, were allowed to leave today as in all probability they will not be needed.
