Changes in Order of University Crews

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Since the race with Cornell on Saturday a number of changes in the orders of the University eight and four-oar crews have been made. Filley is again stroking the eight, having replaced Shepard, who is now stroking the four-oar. Newhall, who rowed on the Junior class crew has been given a trial for the last two days at number four on the University eight. Farley and Bacon have been moved up from the four-oar and are now rowing at two and six, respectively on the University crew. These changes have made the boat somewhat unsteady, but in short stretches fairly good form and speed have been shown. A slow stroke of not over twenty-four is being tried in order to break the men of the habit of rushing the recovery and especially the slides.

The orders follow:

University crew--Stroke, Filley; 7, Burchard; 6, Bacon; 5, Lawson; 4, Newhall; 3, George; 2, Farley: bow, Flint; cox., Chase.

University four-oar--Stroke, Shepard; 3, Corlett; 2, Pleasonton; bow, Gill.
