Red Top, June 18, 1905.--On Saturday morning the University crew was given no work, but the Freshman eight practiced racing starts. In the afternoon the University boat went over the four mile course upstream in 20 minutes and 45 seconds. The Freshman eight raced the University crew for the last two miles, and lost by three feet. It was a very close race and the Freshmen were somewhat retarded by eelgrass. The condition of the men on the University four-oar is excellent. In general, the work of the crews during the past week has shown enormous improvement. R. Fisher '98, S. S. Wolcott '03 and C. H. Schweppe '02 visited the quarters today.
