The Freshman baseball team defeated Volkmann School yesterday afternoon by a score of 20 to 10. The large score of the Freshmen was due to the poor pitching and fielding of their opponents rather than to any good work of their own. In the third inning Allyn, the Volkmann pitcher, was knocked out of the box, and Briggs, who was substituted for him, was little better. The fielding of the Freshman team was poor and at bat ten men struck out. Marsh was hit very freely but Lincoln, who replaced him in the fifth inning, allowed only two hits for the remainder of the game which was called after Volkmann's half of the eighth inning.
