This afternoon at 2.30 o'clock the University golf team will play the Country Club on its links at Brookline. The following men will represent the University: M. McBurney '06, F. Ingalls 1L., A. L. White '06, W. F. Harrison '06, P. Gilbert '08, F. H. Ellis '06, E. Wilder '06, W. Hickox '08.
Seven of these men will be selected to play against the following team, chosen by the Massachusetts State Golf Association, tomorrow morning at 11.30 o'clock on the links of the Myopia Hunt Club at Hamilton: W. C. Chick '05, W. E. Egan '05, A. G. Lockwood, J. F. Curtis '99, H. R. Johnstone L. '95, J. G. Thorp '79, A. L. Ripley. This is the last match to be played this spring by the University golf team.
A. L. White '06 won the individual golf championship of the University by defeating W. F. Harrison '06, 3 up and 2 to play, in a 36-hole match played Friday and Saturday on the Oakley Country Club course. Although neither played a brilliant game, both matches were interesting and closely contested, White winning by superior steadiness. In the first round on Friday, White was 1 up on the hole. Saturday he had the advantage from the first, being four up at the seventh hole.
