At the last meeting of the Corporation the resignation of John Knowles Paine, professor of music, was received and accepted, to take effect September 1, 1905, and the following minute was entered upon the records:
"In accepting Professor Paine's resignation the Board desire to record their sense of the high value of Professor Paine's services to the University and to congratulate him upon his success in building up from the foundations the Department of Music."
