It has been decided to hold a race on May 27 between the Newell and Weld Freshman crews, prior to the Corroll Cup race at 4.15 o'clock and the University race with Cornell at 4.30 o'clock. In addition to these, there will be a race between two picked crews from the Newell and Weld Clubs. The final arrangements for the club crew races will be announced later.
The Newell and Weld Freshman crews originally consisted of the third and fourth Freshman eights, respectively, but so many changes have been made in the old orders that it is impossible to judge the relative speeds of the two boats. The Newell crew, although composed of better material, has been rowing rather irregularly lately and recent shifts have been made in its order. The Weld boat is developing a good drive, though some-what ragged in its general form.
