1908-Andover Baseball Today

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Freshman baseball team will play Andover at Andover this afternoon at 3 o'clock. Andover defeated Princeton on April 14 by a score of 3 to 1 and the Yale freshmen last Saturday by a score of 14 to 4, but lost to Yale by a score of 5 to 4 and to the University team by a score of 6 to 4. A considerable change has been made in the batting order of the Freshman nine, on account of its poor showing in the St. Mark's game last Saturday. The fielding of the team is still very erratic and the men run bases stupidly, although their batting in slightly improved. Last year Andover defeated the 1907 Freshman team by a score of 14 to 2.

The batting order: HARVARD 1908.  ANDOVER. Lovering, c.  l.f., Schildmiller Fischel, c.f.  1b., Clough Stephenson, 1b.  r.f., Taylor Ware, l.f.  2b., Reilly Pritchett, s.s.  s.s., Fels Thomas, 3b.  3b., Williams Pounds, r.f.  c.f., Cushman Smith, McNeil, 2b.  c., Jones Lincoln, p.  p., Lanigan, Ferritt
