The University field day sports will be held on soldiers field this afternoon at 4 o'clock. The games, which will be open to all members of the University, except men who are or have been members of the track team, will be of an informal nature, and entries will be received at the field. Besides the regular thirteen events, there will be "Piggy-back," wheelbarrow and obstacle races.
There will be caps for the winners in all events. The Garcelon-Bremer cups for high and low hurdles, the Wells cup for the quarter-mile run, and the Blakemore cup for the two-mile run will also be awarded. The name of the winner of the Wells cup is engraved on the cup and he retains possession of it for one year.
The officials will be as follows: timer, Mr. Graham; clerk of course. P. Dana '04; judges at the finish, M. T. Lightner '03, J. E. Haigh '03, W. A. Colwell 2G,; field judges, C. H. Robinson '04, W. T. Piper '03, A. Derby '03; scorer, W. C. Clark '03.
