The cricket team was defeated by Haverford yesterday in its first match in the intercollegiate series by a score of 138 to 68, Harvard not out. Although the batting of the University team was not as good as usual, Haverford's victory was due rather to its own excellent playing than to any weakness on Harvard's part. Captain Taylor bowled a very good game for Harvard, and Bonbright batted well, making a total of 23 runs. For Haverford Priestman, Doughton and Pierce played the best game.
