Many Changes in University Crew

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Five shifts were made yesterday in the order of the University crew. George, who on account of a strained back has been unable to row since April 29, took Flint's place at 7, the latter moving to 3. Richardson, who has been rowing on the crew since last Wednesday, was returned to the Freshman boat, and his place at 2 was taken by Tappan. Pleasonton was tried at 4 for the first time this spring, in place of Derby, who has stopped rowing. Lawson was shifted from 3 to 5, where he rowed last week. The two crews took a hard row yesterday afternoon, but the wind and water were so unfavorable that it was impossible to criticise their work.

The orders were as follows:

First crew--Stroke, Farley; 7, George; 6, Filley; 5, Lawson; 4, Pleasonton; 3, Flint; 2, Tappan; bow, Burchard; cox., Montgomery.

Second crew--Stroke, Shepard; 7, Gill; 6, Bacon; 5, Meier; 4, McLeod; 3, Kellogg; 2, Corlett; bow, Lilley; cox., Chase.
