Spring football practice began yesterday afternoon on Soldiers Field and will be held daily at 4.30 o'clock until further notice. In spite of the rain about twenty men reported. It is expected that more men will be out today. The work was elementary, consisting of catching, passing, and falling on the ball, goal kicking, and running down the field under punts. The men were under the direction of Coach Reid and Captain Hurley. Coach Reid instructed the squad in punting and goad kicking. Captain Hurley had charge of the men in passing and falling on the ball and paid especial attention to individual work. A half-mile run for the squad concluded the practice.
All men who intend to try for the team next fall are expected to report for practice today.
