Freshmen Won Baseball with Nobles

The Freshman baseball team in the first game of the season defeated Noble and Greenough School on Soldiers Field yesterday by a score of 6 to 2.

Both teams fielded well and few errors were made. At the Freshmen were especially at critical times. The pitchecs were evenly matched, both allowing six hits and giving five bases on balls. For the Freshmen. Lincoln pitched a steady game and struck out eight .

In the first Hall got to first base on a scratell hit, atole second and was brought in by Mitchell's two-base hit. The Freshmen did not score until the third inning, when Ware reached second base on a long fly. A sacrifice hit by Pritchett advanced him to third base and Fischel's groounder to shortstop brought him home. Lincoln got to first base on an error in the fifth inning and after stealing second came in on Ware's hit. The Freshmen scored three more runs in the sixth inning. Waters made a three-base hit to centre field and Thomas got a base on balls. A hit by Bennett brought in these two men and he came in on a hit by Lincoln. In the eighth inning Carlisle scored another run for the Freshmen on a base on balls and a hit by ware. Noble's last run was made in the first half of the ninth inning on an error by Waters and a hit by Inches.
