The University baseball team will play Bates in the eighth game of the season this afternoon on the University diamond. Soldiers Field, at 4 o'clock. Yesterday, in its first game this spring, Bates was defeated by Andover by the score of 9 to 8.
Practice for the University team yesterday showed considerable advance over the work in Tuesday's game, especially in batting. The fielding, though less ragged, was still uncertain.
The batting orders: Reserved seats at 75 cents, are on sale at Leavitt & Peirce's, and at the box office at the field.
