The Memorial Society presented yesterday to Mr. Jones, the venerable College bell-ringer, a miniature of the old bell which hung in the belfry of Harvard Hall from 1836 to 1900. The miniature was cast from a fragment of the old bell, which was broken up last summer, and from which the tablets recently placed on the old Yard dormitories were made. The bell stands about eight inches high, and bears on one side the medallion of the Memorial Society and on the other the inscription:
To Austin Kingsley Jones.
The miniature will be placed on exhibition in the Periodical Room of the Union next Monday.
