To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

In answer to yesterday's communication regarding the management of the fall track games, it seems necessary that the University have some explanation. The Faculty regulation which allows no games before 4 P. M. except on Saturdays requires at this time of year that all games be run off as quickly as possible on account of darkness. For that reason every event must be started immediately upon the completion of the one before. Yet in the games on Thursday, no event was started without notice being given five minutes before hand in the Locker Building and in the tent on the field. As regards the statement that several men who had trained all the fall were prevented from running, owing to the fact that a certain event--namely, the one-mile run--was run ahead of scheduled time,--it has been found out on investigation that only three men missed the event and two of these afterwards ran in the two-mile race. Moreover, the mile run was not started until it was found absolutely necessary to do so in order to finish the games before darkness rendered any further running impossible. Even as it was the two-mile was finished in almost complete darkness. E. C. RUST.   P. DANA.
