Dr. J. R. Brackett '83 will speak on "The Ultimate Aims of our Social Work" next Friday evening at 7.30 o'clock in the Randall Room, Phillips Brooks House, at a conference under the auspices of the Social Service Committee. In his address he will show some methods of social work, and their effectiveness, and will point out opportunities for social service work. Before Dr. Brackett's address several men from the University active in various philanthropic institutions will speak briefly about the aims and the results of their work.
Dr. Brackett received a degree of Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins College in 1887. For several years he was engaged in philanthropic work in Baltimore. At present he is an instructor in the Department of Philosophy and conducts Philosophy 19. He is also at the head of a new school for social workers in Boston maintained jointly by the University and Simmons College.
The conference will be open to members of the University, and all men engaged in philanthropic work are especially urged to attend.
