In view of the recent fires in Hollis and Thayer, 25 new fire extinguishers of the Badger type will be placed in the University buildings during the week, and if these are not interfered with, 25 more will be installed during the spring
Nearly all the rope fire escapes will be replaced by others of the same general type, but with larger ropes, heavier travelers, and a safer band. These escapes are reversible, and will be placed in every bed-room.
A new fire-alarm box will soon be placed near the main entrance of the University Museum. Its number will be 571.
