University Catalogue for 1905-1906

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University Catalogue, which will be issued today, shows a total enrolment this year of 6141, a decrease of 66 from last year's figures. This decrease affects every department of the University except the Graduate School, the Bussey Institute, Radcliffe College, the Summer School, and the number of teachers and administrative officers. The most serious losses appear in the Scientific School, the Graduate School, the Law School and the Dental School, all of which showed an increase last year.

With the exception of the following points there are few changes in the new catalogue. Information in regard to the new supplementary fee which must be paid, by those students taking courses in excess of a given number per year, in addition to the regular tuition fee, is given on pages 581 and 476. This fee, which will take effect beginning with the academic year 1906-07, is established to equalize the charges for tuition between men taking the degree of A.B. in three years and those taking the degree in four years. A new provision for the assignment of rooms is stated in detail on page 587 in which no preference is given to Seniors in Holworthy Hall, Hollis Hall, or Stoughton Hall, a preference which has been customary heretofore.

The Catalogue consists of 800 pages and has complete information on all departments of the University. It contains the University calendar for the year, and a detailed list of courses. It is on sale at the Co-operative, Sever's, Thurston's and Amee's for 50 cents a copy.
