Ideal Farm Planned

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A plan has recently been developed by men interested in farming for the founding of an ideal farm to be managed by members of the University. A corporation or stock company will probably be formed, the funds of which will be raised by subscription. If possible a large tract of land, situated on a river and within easy reach of a city, will be secured and divided into special lots, the head of each department superintending a particular field of industry. The land, however, will be held in common, and, when occasion demands, the work will be done in common. Such a farm will be of great value to members of the Bussey Institution, who wish to obtain experience in this way during the summer.

A committee of nine men has volunteered to investigate suitable situations, and to report on some separate branch of farming activity. At a meeting to be held, probably next week, papers will be read, and further plans discussed. All who are interested in the project should send their names and addresses to S.L. Walcott 1B., Dunster 54.
